Job summary

Allied Universal in Toronto, Ontario, seeks Security Professionals for Government site – Floater on a Government of Canada contract. You will monitor CCTV and alarms, respond to incidents, dispatch personnel, maintain logs, and coordinate with site management and responders.

Requirements include a Provincial Security Guard Licence, high school diploma, 5 years Canadian residency, English fluency (French preferred).

Qualifications

  • Valid Provincial Security Guard Licence.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have resided in Canada for a minimum of 5 years to obtain a Reliability Government Clearance.
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of Security Guard experience.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
  • Reliable transportation to work at multiple sites within the GTA.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, assess, prioritize, and respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies.
  • Dispatch security personnel and coordinate incident response activities.
  • Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and operational records.

  • Escalate incidents per SOPs.
  • Monitor and report security threats and operational disruptions.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations and gather information for incident reporting.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive government information.
  • Support emergency management and business continuity activities.

Job Description

Security Professionals - Government site - Floater

Allied Universal is seeking professional and highly motivated Security Professionals to join our Security Operations team in Toronto, Ontario, supporting a Government of Canada contract.

This role is ideal for individuals who are detail‑oriented, thrive in fast‑paced operational environments, and are committed to delivering exceptional security services. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring security systems, coordinating emergency communications, responding to incidents, and maintaining situational awareness while adhering to Government of Canada security protocols and established operational procedures.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, exercises sound judgment under pressure, and demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and integrity.

Security Clearance Requirements

Applicants must have resided continuously in Canada for a minimum of five (5) years.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Reliability Status Security Clearance. An existing Reliability Status or Secret Security Clearance is considered a strong asset.

Position Details

Position: Security Professionals - Government site - Floater

Location: GTA, Ontario (Downtown Toronto, North York, Scarborough & Barrie)

Pay Rate: $20.50 per hour

Employment Type: Floater/ Casual

Schedule: Monday through Sunday

Hours: Various shifts (days, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays)

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and other electronic security systems.
  • Receive, assess, prioritize, and respond to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations.
  • Dispatch security personnel and coordinate incident response activities.
  • Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and operational records.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively in English and French with security personnel, site management, Government of Canada representatives, and emergency responders.
  • Escalate incidents in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor, identify, and report security threats, operational disruptions, and critical incidents.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations and gather information for incident reporting.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive government and operational information.
  • Support emergency management and business continuity activities as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Valid Provincial Security Guard Licence.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a government, critical infrastructure, or corporate security environment.
  • Experience operating CCTV, access control, alarm monitoring, and incident management systems.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is considered a strong asset.
  • Emergency communications or dispatch experience.
  • Existing Government of Canada Reliability Status or Secret Security Clearance.
