Paladin Security is seeking a Full-time Patient Watch role in Saint Paul, Alberta, on-site. You will provide continuous, one-on-one observation and compassionate monitoring within hospital and clinical settings.

The role requires calm, attentive observation, de-escalation skills, and professional customer service. Travel to surrounding regional sites is required with mileage reimbursement and available training upon hire.

Qualifikationen

Role Overview

When patients in healthcare facilities are in crisis or present a danger to themselves or others, dedicated support is required to ensure their safety and the safety of medical staff. In a Patient Watch role, you provide continuous, one‑on‑one observation and compassionate monitoring within hospital and clinical settings.

This position is ideal for individuals who excel in calm, attentive observation, strong de‑escalation, and professional customer service. You will be part of an essential support system in healthcare environments, responding on‑demand to support facilities in Saint Paul and surrounding rural regions.

Compensation and Support

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour starting wage.

Travel Support: Mileage reimbursement provided for travel to surrounding regional sites.

Provided Training: Comprehensive Healthcare Security Training and First Aid certification courses are provided directly upon hire at no cost to you.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role requires staying alert, maintaining confidentiality, and handling high‑stress situations with composure. On a day‑to‑day basis, your responsibilities include:

Providing continuous visual monitoring of patients who require special safety supervision, often involving long periods of attentive sitting.

Observing patient behavior and immediately communicating any physical or behavioral changes to medical and security personnel.

Using non‑defensive communication and verbal de‑escalation techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and clinical staff.

Maintaining accurate, detailed logs of patient interactions, site activities, and incidents using site reporting systems and two‑way radios.

Screening visitors, adhering strictly to patient privacy standards, and enforcing safety guidelines with professionalism.

Traveling promptly to designated healthcare facilities upon short notice to fulfill scheduled or on‑demand shift requests.

What You Need to Succeed (Must‑Haves)

Flexible Availability: Full open availability to work on‑demand and pick up shifts on short notice, including days, overnights, and weekends.

Reliable Transportation: A valid Class 5 driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a personal vehicle capable of traveling to surrounding healthcare sites up to 500 km when needed.

Clear Background Check: A clean criminal record check and legal authorization to work in Canada.

Focus and Composure: The ability to remain fully alert during long shifts, sit for extended periods, and respond calmly during sudden emergency or high‑stress situations.

Communication Skills: Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills for patient logging and team coordination.

Nice‑to‑Haves

Previous experience in security, healthcare support, caregiving, or customer service.

Valid First Aid certification, Basic Security Training (BST), or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.
