Job Posting: Security Officer - Alberton, PEI

Commissionaires NB&PEI Division is looking to hire mature and responsible team members to work at the Western Hospital.

Hours: Part-time, various shifts, days only (am to pm), minimum hours per week.

Rate of Pay: $ per hour

The Role: The Security Officer is responsible for enforcing established rules and regulations to ensure the protection of people, property, and information at Western Hospital. Duties include static and roving patrols, as well as physically aiding staff.

We are seeking candidates with:
  • Physical fitness to perform interior rounds, including stairs; may also require walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods
  • Strong communication and dispute resolution skills
  • A positive, proactive, problem-solving approach to tasks
  • Completion of high school or equivalent
The successful candidate must be able to:
  • Actively participate in the hospital’s Code White Response Team; may be required to assume a lead role in crisis conflict resolution and physical restraint interventions to ensure safety
  • Meet the physical and mental demands of the job
  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in conflict situations
  • Respond to emergency situations and assist in evacuations of patients, public, and staff
