Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure maintenance of strong and effective relationships with client customers and key stakeholders.
2. Provide leadership, advice, and counsel to all site security team members to achieve client satisfaction.
3. Responsible for the training and deployment of guards.
4. Marine Transportation Security Clearance (MTSC) is required to work at the location.
5. Manage team members effectively, focusing on personnel retention and professional development.
6. Advise the client on security policies and practices, identify exposures, and make recommendations.
7. Lead investigations of significant threats, asset loss or misappropriation, and employee discipline as necessary.
8. Perform incident analysis and investigations, providing advice and closure to stakeholders.
9. Develop and implement site-specific training and improvement programs.
10. Ensure resources are allocated appropriately and priorities are covered adequately.

Skills & Qualifications

1. Minimum of one year security supervisor experience in an operational setting, with security industry or law enforcement background preferred.
2. Degree or diploma in security management, risk management, or business continuity is an asset.
3. Experience working within a unionized environment.
4. Strong management and leadership skills, with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating, and engagement abilities.
5. Sound judgment and decision-making skills, with a hands-on problem-solving approach; able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents.
6. Experience in writing procedures, drafting reports, preparing business cases, and managing staffing levels.
7. Proven management experience within the security industry; experience in the public sector is an asset.
8. Experience working in a marine environment.
9. Transport Canada Security Clearance.
10. Must carry a valid Security Workers License.
11. Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract and claim history.
12. OFA 2 certification is an asset.
