Job summary

Kewley Security in Kingston, Ontario, is seeking licensed Security Guards to work at Boots and Hearts 2026 and surrounding events. This seasonal/event contract involves protecting attendees, managing access, and enforcing alcohol compliance in a large outdoor festival setting.

Successful applicants will demonstrate reliable, customer-focused security, be able to work outdoors for long hours, and hold an Ontario Security Guard Licence and Smart Serve certification.

• Bag checks and screening support, where assigned
• Responding to incidents and escalating concerns appropriately
• Providing clear directions and strong customer service to patrons
• Supporting emergency procedures as directed by supervisors
• Maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced outdoor festival environment
• Completing incident reports when required

Job Description

Kewley Security is now accepting applications for licensed Security Guards to work events in and around Kingston.

This is a large-scale outdoor music festival environment requiring professional, reliable, and customer-focused security personnel. Successful applicants will support event safety, access control, alcohol compliance, crowd management, patron assistance, and overall site security throughout the festival.

Applicants must hold a valid Ontario Security Guard Licence and valid Smart Serve certification to be considered.

Responsibilities

Security Guards may be assigned to a variety of event positions, including:

• Access control and credential checks
• Gate, perimeter, and restricted area security
• Alcohol compliance and patron monitoring
• Crowd management and public safety support
• Bag checks and screening support, where assigned
• Responding to incidents and escalating concerns appropriately
• Providing clear directions and strong customer service to patrons
• Supporting emergency procedures as directed by supervisors
• Maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced outdoor festival environment
• Completing incident reports when required

Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Valid Smart Serve certification
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Ability to follow direction from supervisors and event command staff
• Reliable transportation to and from the event site
• Availability during the Boots and Hearts 2026 event dates
• Previous event, concert, festival, or alcohol compliance experience is considered an asset

Working Conditions

This position involves working in a busy outdoor festival environment. Guards may be required to stand or walk for long periods, work evenings, late nights, weekends, and in various weather.
