Job summary

Commissionaires on Vancouver Island is seeking security professionals for multiple shifts across Esquimalt. The role includes access control, patrol duties, surveillance monitoring, and incident response to protect airports, schools, and government facilities.

Positions are available on both part-time and full-time bases with a wage of $20.00/hr to $21.53/hr. The team benefits from RRSP contributions, health coverage, and training opportunities while working in varied weather and scheduling

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid BC Security Worker License or be willing to obtain it.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance and be minimum 19 years of age.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Proficiency in using security technology (e.g., alarm and access control systems).
• Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Access Control: Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter.
• Patrol Duties: Conduct regular patrols to detect and deter any suspicious activity or potential security threats.
• Surveillance Monitoring: Operate and monitor surveillance and alarm systems to identify and respond to security breaches.
• Incident Response: Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, taking appropriate action to resolve the situation and minimize risk.
• Report Writing: Prepare detailed incident reports and daily logs, maintaining clear communication with supervisors.
• Customer Service: Provide assistance and guidance to visitors and employees, ensuring a positive experience while maintaining security standards.

Position Status: Part-Time and Full-Time

Shifts: Various days, evenings, and overnight shifts

Wage: $20.00/hr - $21.53/hr

Reports to: Site Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

• Access Control: Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter. Verify identification and issue temporary passes as needed.
• Patrol Duties: Conduct regular patrols, to detect and deter any suspicious activity or potential security threats.
• Surveillance Monitoring: Operate and monitor surveillance and alarmsystemsto identify and respond to any security breaches.
• Incident Response: Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, taking appropriate action to resolve the situation and minimize risk.
• Report Writing: Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and other security documentation as needed. Maintain clear communication with supervisors and other security personnel.
• Customer Service: Provide assistance and guidance to visitors and employees, ensuring a positive experience while maintaining security standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
