Site Description : Niagara Health – Marotta Family Hospital is a state-of-the-art healthcare facility offering advanced, patient-centered care. Opened in 2013, it features specialized services in emergency medicine, critical care, surgery, mental health, and women’s and children’s health. The hospital is home to the Walker Family Cancer Centre and a Heart Investigation Unit, providing regional access to life-saving treatments.
Key responsibilities :
- Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
- Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
- Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
- Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.
- Greeting and assisting visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
- Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
- Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
- Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards
