Location: DND Sites (CFB Esquimalt, CFAD -Rocky Pt , 443 Helicopter Squadron)

Shifts: Various days, evenings, and overnight shifts

Schedule: Various Shifts

Reports to: Site Supervisor

Starting Wage: $20.00/hr - $21.41/hr

Job Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to clients and the general public
• Provide access control and security foot/mobile patrols as needed
• Proactively respond to and resolve emergency situations and conflicts
• Complete evacuation and emergency response procedures when necessary
• Using mobile phones and basic computer programs
• Communicate problems or concerns to the site supervisor
• Possess excellent multi-tasking, problem-solving, prioritizing and organizational abilities
• Know occupational health and safety regulations – training provided
• Perform all duties with high safety standards

Qualifications And Experience

• Possess a Government of Canada secret (level II) security clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
• Ability to remain alert while on duty.
• Ability to work in a range of weather conditions throughout shift
• Must complete the online Commissionaire Security Officer Course
• Be willing to obtain a BC security worker's license
• Be comfortable using computers
• Fluent in the English language - written, verbal and reading skills
• Have a positive attitude with a professional demeanour
• Have excellent attention to complete incident report writing
• Have excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in varying situations
