Job summary

Qualifications

• Familiarity with access control systems and alarm monitoring.
• Experience with report writing and note-taking.
• Knowledge of CCTV monitoring systems.
• Valid BC security guard license.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada and 40 hours per week.
• First Aid and CPR certified.
• Must be at least 25 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mobile patrols of designated areas to deter incidents and protect personnel and property.
• Monitor surveillance systems and alarms and respond to breaches.
• Inspect doors, windows and access points for security and policy compliance.
• Interact with clients, visitors and employees, providing assistance and enforcing security policies.
• Report incidents and hazards to supervisors with observations and actions.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders as needed.
• Maintain logs of patrols and incidents.
• Perform routine checks of security equipment and emergency supplies.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend security enhancements.
• Participate in training to stay updated on procedures.

Pay Rate: $20.40 per hour

Shifts: Various Shifts: (0100 - 0900, 1700 - 0100)

Overview:

Allied Universal is currently hiring Security Guard - Mobile Patrol to provide professional, front-line security services for a prestigious financial institution. This role is ideal for individuals with strong customer service skills, professional demeanor, and a background in corporate security.

• Must be able to provide a clear driver's abstract and BC Full Class 5 license.

Specific Duties Performed and Essential Functions:

• Conduct mobile patrols of designated areas, including parking lots, premises, and other high-traffic areas, to deter unauthorized activity and ensure the safety of personnel and property

• Monitor surveillance systems and alarms, promptly responding to any security breaches, disturbances, or suspicious activities

• Perform security checks of buildings, doors, windows, and other access points to prevent unauthorized entry and ensure compliance with security protocols

• Interact with clients, visitors, and employees, providing assistance, directions, and information as needed while enforcing security policies

• Report any security incidents, accidents, or hazards immediately to supervisors or appropriate authorities, documenting observations and actions taken

• Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and other security personnel to coordinate responses to incidents and emergencies effectively

• Maintain accurate logs and records of patrol activities, incidents, and observations, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

• Conduct routine inspections of security equipment, vehicles, and emergency supplies, reporting any issues or deficiencies for prompt resolution

• Conduct risk assessments and security audits of client premises, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending security enhancements to mitigate risks

• Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge of security procedures, emergency response protocols, and relevant regulation
