Qualifications

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C certification.
  • Two doses of the Covid Vaccine.
  • Immunization records for specific diseases.
  • Valid G class Driver License with a clean record.
  • Previous experience in security or law enforcement preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol hospital grounds and conduct regular security checks.

Hours: Continental Rotation 06:00-18:00 / 18:00-06:00

Payrate: $23.00

Key responsibilities
  • Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure safety and security of the site.
  • Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, reporting any suspicious activity immediately.
  • Access Control: Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring only authorized individuals access restricted areas.
  • Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergencies, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats; assist staff during crises and evacuations.
  • Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff; provide directions and ensure adherence to hospital policies.
  • Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts calmly and professionally.
  • Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately and complete incident reports.
  • Collaboration with Hospital Staff: Work with hospital staff and local law enforcement to support a coordinated security effort.
  • Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure adherence to hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols; address violations to uphold safety standards.
Prerequisites
  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C
  • Covid Vaccine two doses
  • Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two-step TB skin test (should be already completed)
  • Valid G class Driver License with last 3 years of clean driving record
  • English (oral and written) fluency
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related field preferred
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to onboarding to meet requirements
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada
