Position: Security Guard

Site: Youthdale Treatment Centres

City: 229 Yonge Street - Suite 300, Toronto, ON M5B 1N9

Status: Full Time

Hours: 12 Hours - Continental Rotation (0700-1900/1900-0700)

Pay Rate: $25.00 /hr.

Mandatory Training: Successful candidates will be asked to attend a 5-day virtual and in-class training at our Etobicoke office.

A valid immunization record (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and 2) is required prior to onboarding.

Job Description: Working on assigned shifts, you will provide proactive and reactive security patrols, respond to incidents, write reports, investigate routine incidents, and respond efficiently to emergencies. Excellent customer service skills are essential, especially when working with stressed or medically assisted individuals. Physical fitness is required to stand and walk for long periods.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide leadership, coaching, and training
• Ensure adherence to all security policies and procedures
• Plan and implement shift schedules
• Ensure all guards receive mandatory training
• Motivate staff and recognize achievements
• Discipline staff when necessary with proper documentation
• Manage attendance and perform security audits
• Document and investigate incidents and complaints
• Conduct security patrols proactively and reactively
• Communicate concerns/issues to the Client Service Manager
• Work in the mental health ward, providing security, responding to emergencies, and supporting staff and patients
• Develop security plans for high-risk patients
• Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services to ensure safety
