Position: Full-Time Security Guard

Agreement: Overtime is under Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Hours: Monday to Friday (1600-0000)

Payrate: $22.07/hour

Posting Date: August 19th, 2025

Key Responsibilities

1. Patrol hospital grounds, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure safety and security. Daily lock and unlock of facilities.
2. Monitor and control access points, ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
3. Inspect and screen bags or cargo using equipment or by hand.
4. Perform searches of passengers with tools or manually.
5. Screen passengers through checkpoints and other procedures.
6. Provide customer service by greeting and assisting visitors, patients, and staff, giving directions, and ensuring policy adherence.
7. De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts professionally.
8. Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately in reports.
9. Collaborate with hospital staff and law enforcement to ensure safety.
10. Enforce hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, addressing violations appropriately.

Prerequisites

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C
• Diploma in Police Foundations, Protection Security & Investigations, Border Services, or Criminology
• Covid vaccine (two doses)
• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and two-step TB skin test
• Fluency in English (oral and written)
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Ability to provide these certifications or opt into Paladin's training program (costs covered, with a 6-month commitment)
• Legal authorization to work in Canada
