Position: Security Guard

Site: Seneca Polytechnic - Newnham

City: North York, ON

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is under Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours or ESA Overtime after 44 hours

Status: Full-Time

Hours: Continental Rotation 12 Hours or 8 Hours (Monday to Friday)

Pay Rate: $19.00 - $20.50/hour

Internal Posting Date: June 17th, 2025

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive foot and vehicle patrols throughout Newnham’s facilities, academic buildings, residence, and student spaces
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and medical emergencies with confidence and care
• Provide excellent customer service and information to students, visitors, and faculty
• Monitor access, enforce campus policies, and assist with crowd management during events
• Prepare thorough incident reports and assist with investigations
• Engage with Toronto Police, Fire, EMS, and campus partners as needed

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Ontario Security Guard License
• First Aid/CPR
• Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
• Ability to handle fast-paced, diverse campus demands
• Prior post-secondary or healthcare security experience is an asset
• Bilingual/multilingual skills are a plus
• Must not be a current Seneca student at Newnham

Education Requirements: High School Diploma

Certification Requirements: Standard First Aid, CPR Level C, Valid Ontario Security License, Vulnerable Sector Check, Valid G or G2 Driver's License, MOAB, Use of Force in Class Training, Authorization to work in Canada
