• Averaging Agreement: Overtime is under Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
• Hours: Continental Rotation - 0700-1900/1900-0700
• Payrate: $20.09 - $21.95/hour

Job Description

This position is a high-caliber role and includes the following responsibilities:

• Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure safety and security.
• Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, reporting suspicious activity immediately.
• Access Control: Monitor and control entry points, ensuring only authorized individuals access restricted areas.
• Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly during medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats; assist hospital staff during crises and evacuations.
• Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff; provide directions and ensure policy adherence.
• Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts professionally.
• Report Writing: Document incidents, activities, and concerns accurately.
• Collaboration with Hospital Staff: Work closely with staff and law enforcement for coordinated security efforts.
• Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure policies are followed; address violations appropriately.

Prerequisites

• Valid Security License for Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• Covid Vaccine: two doses
• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and two-step TB skin test
• Fluency in English (oral and written)
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related fields preferred
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Option to train in UOF/MOAB prior to onboarding if lacking certifications; training costs covered with a 6-month commitment
• Authorized to work legally in Canada
