Job Description

  • Proactive & reactive security patrols of main site and outlying facilities
  • Patient Watches
  • Response to incidents and intervention
  • De-escalation
  • Surveillance monitoring
  • Report writing
  • Investigate routine incidents
  • Parking and smoking enforcement/by-laws
  • Policy awareness and enforcement
  • Additional Duties as Assigned

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year healthcare security experience required
  • Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience required
  • Valid Ontario Security License
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved source)
  • Proof of (minimum) double COVID-19 vaccination
  • A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)
    • Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella are required at the time of hire. Applicants who are not immunized or are otherwise unable to provide their MMR immunity at the time of hire will not be deemed eligible for the position.

  • Ability to complete extensive patrols, to sit/stand for up to 12 hours per shift
  • Ability to work alone and self-motivated
  • Fluency in English (oral and written)
  • Excellent communication and de-escalation skills is required
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
    • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
    • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
