Job summary

Allied Universal Security Services in Mississauga, ON is seeking a professional Security Guard to provide front desk security and access control services at a corporate logistics facility. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional front desk security presence.
• Monitor and control access to the facility per site procedures.

• Monitor CCTV and security systems as required.

Security Guard – Front Desk & Access Control

Location: Mississauga, ON
Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 0845-1745
Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview:

Allied Universal is seeking a professional, customer-focused, and reliable Security Guard to provide front desk security and access control services at a corporate logistics facility in Mississauga.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for employees, visitors, contractors, and other stakeholders entering the facility. This position requires excellent communication skills, a professional appearance, strong attention to detail, and the ability to provide friendly and professional customer service while maintaining site security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a professional and welcoming security presence at the front desk and entrance.

• Monitor and control access to the facility in accordance with site procedures.

• Greet and assist employees, visitors, contractors, and other authorized personnel.

• Verify identification and access credentials as required.

• Maintain accurate visitor and access control records.

• Issue and collect visitor passes and access cards when required.

• Monitor incoming and outgoing traffic at designated access points.

• Respond to security, safety, and access-related concerns.

• Monitor CCTV and other security systems as required.

• Conduct regular checks of designated areas.

• Enforce site-specific security policies and procedures.

• Receive and direct deliveries, visitors, and contractors as required.

• Maintain daily activity logs and complete accurate incident reports.

• Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security concerns.

• Assist with emergency response procedures when required.

• Contact emergency services and site management when appropriate.

• Maintain a professional and positive relationship with employees, management, visitors, and contractors.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of security experience, preferably in a corporate, commercial, industrial, or front desk environment.

• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.

• Valid First Aid & CPR Certification.

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Professional appearance and demeanor.

• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.

• Comfortable working at a front desk and interacting with employees and visitors throughout the day.

• Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic reports and documentation.

• Ability to remain professional and composed when dealing with challenging situations.

• Ability to work independently and follow site-specific procedures.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous front desk security or concierge security experience.

• Experience with access control and visitor management systems.

• Experience working in a corporate, logistics, warehouse, or industrial environment.

• Strong administrative and organizational skills.

• Previous experience handling visitors, contractors, and deliveries.
