Position: Casual Security Guard
Site: Haldimand Memorial Hospital, 400 Broad St W, Dunnville, ON N1A 2P7
Hours: Various
Payrate: $17.95 - $19.78/hr.

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement after 88 Hours

Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.

  • Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.

  • Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.

  • Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats.

  • Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.

  • Greeting and assisting visitors, patients, and hospital staff.

  • Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.

  • De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.

  • Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.

  • Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.

  • Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed.

  • Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards


Requirements


  • A Valid Ontario Security Guard License

  • Proficient in English (both oral and written)

  • Degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services would be an asset

  • Previous six months experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.

  • Proof of double Covid Vaccination

  • Immunization Record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and 2)

  • Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification

  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)

  • Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin\'s Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada


Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
