Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Guard - Campus in Calgary, Alberta, to protect people, property, and assets across a college campus. The role requires alert observation, clear communication, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies.

The position offers casual/on-call shifts with day, evening, night, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must have Alberta Security Services Worker Licence, First Aid & CPR, and be 18+ with a high school diploma; full-time hours may be possible

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of security experience (Campus or access control preferred).
• Alberta Security Services Worker Licence required.
• First Aid & CPR Certification.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada and available to work up to 40 hours per week, including all shifts.
• Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, report writing, and incident documentation.
• Experience using CCTV monitoring, access control systems, and alarm monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Patrol interior and exterior areas to maintain a safe environment and monitor for unauthorized access and hazards.
• Maintain high visibility at security posts and ensure continuous coverage of restricted areas.
• Enforce access control by verifying IDs, issuing badges, logging entries, and securing doors.
• Prepare and manage badges and maintain confidentiality per policy.
• Monitor CCTV, access control, and alarm systems to protect people and assets.
• Communicate incidents and concerns promptly to security teams and management.
• Respond to emergencies (medical, fire, security) coordinating with emergency services as needed.
• Complete incident reports, logs, and handover documents accurately.
• Protect company property by preventing theft, vandalism and unauthorized access.
