Position Details:

Position: Full-Time Security Dispatch
Site: North York General Hospital Leslie
Overtime: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Hours: Continental Rotation - 0700-1900/1900-0700
Payrate: $ 20.03/hour
Posting Date: June 20, 2025
Internal Closing Date: June 27, 2025
External Closing Date: July 11, 2025

Schedule Example:

• Week 1 - Days - Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
• Week 2 - Days - Sun, Wed-Thu
• Week 3 - Nights - Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
• Week 4 - Nights - Sun, Wed-Thu

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor and respond to radio, telephone, and other communication systems used by security personnel.
• Dispatch security officers to specific locations based on real-time events and security needs.
• Maintain accurate logs of all security incidents, activities, and communications.
• Coordinate with emergency services (police, fire department, EMS) when necessary and assist with emergency responses.
• Monitor hospital surveillance systems, including security cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
• Provide detailed reports on incidents and activities to security management.
• Assist with the coordination of hospital evacuations, lockdowns, or other emergency situations as directed.
• Ensure proper documentation of incidents and actions taken in compliance with hospital security protocols.
• Serve as the main point of contact for security personnel while they are on shift.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with hospital staff, patients, and visitors to maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Assist with routine security checks and patrols as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training and development in security operations, emergency protocols, and hospital policies.

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• Covid Vaccine two doses
• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
• Authorized to Legally work in Canada
