Project Overview
The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement’s Information Technology Division (ITD) is seeking experienced Security Architect(s) to support the Cybersecurity and Risk Management Branch. The selected candidates will contribute to the Cybersecurity Maturity Program and enhance the security of critical provincial infrastructure.
Must-Haves (Mandatory Requirements)
Candidates must demonstrate experience in:
- Conducting infrastructure and application security reviews
- Integrating cloud, endpoint, and network security solutions
- Performing risk analysis, solution design, and providing security advisory
- Supporting security governance, compliance, and operations
- Designing secure system architectures and planning for legacy system retirement
Nice-to-Haves (Preferred/Desirable)
- Experience supporting public sector cybersecurity initiatives
- Familiarity with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model
- Conducting Threat Risk Assessments (TRA) in government or large enterprise environments
- Developing or enforcing enterprise-wide security policies
- Working within a multi-vendor architecture and collaborating with diverse technical teams
- Evaluating and integrating emerging security technologies
- Strong communication and documentation skills (e.g., preparing security advisories)
- Leadership in architectural modernization and cloud security transitions
Key Responsibilities
- Review IT project designs for compliance with government security policies and standards
- Collaborate with solution architects and vendors to ensure secure integration of technologies
- Analyze existing infrastructure to identify security gaps and propose mitigation strategies
- Lead initiatives involving security architecture upgrades, cloud migrations, and legacy system retirement
- Provide advisory services on emerging cybersecurity risks, technologies, and best practices
- Support ongoing cybersecurity governance, compliance, and operational functions
