About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Security Architect with deep expertise in software security, encryption, and AWS to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud solutions. This role is crucial to support our FedRamp and SOC2 certifications and to ensure our solutions meet the highest standards of security, performance, resilience, and compliance. You will work closely with teams across the organization and serve as a technical reference in security and cloud architecture, staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Secure our solutions: Collaborate with IT, Cloud Operations, and Development teams to design and build robust security architectures across AWS environments, ensuring compliance with SOC2 and FedRAMP. Implement secure encryption strategies to protect sensitive data at rest and in transit.
2. Integration of Security Practices: Work with teams to embed security best practices into infrastructure design and development lifecycle.
3. Continuous Compliance: Define and develop built-in compliance capabilities for security audits and controls enforcement.
4. Threat Modeling: Conduct exercises to identify and address potential cyber risks in cloud applications and infrastructure.
5. Defense-in-Depth Strategy: Design and support strategies to defend against advanced threats.
6. Governance, Risk, and Compliance: Ensure designs meet FedRAMP and SOC2 controls, align with standards like NIST, CIS, AWS best practices, and industry regulations. Manage architecture documentation and contribute to security certification efforts.
7. Subject Matter Expertise: Provide guidance on cloud security, facilitate cross-team communication, and advise on secure coding and data protection.
8. Stay Informed: Keep abreast of security trends and technologies, and communicate updates effectively.
9. Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance cloud security posture.

Qualifications Required

• 10+ years of experience in developing Full-Stack applications
• 5+ years as a Software Architect with focus on security architecture and encryption
• Deep knowledge of encryption methods, PKI, TLS/SSL, HSMs, FIPS standards, and data encryption at rest and in transit
• Understanding of SOC2, NIST, and cloud security
• Experience with cloud-native services, microservices, containerization (Docker), Kubernetes, and AWS Lambda
• Proven ability to collaborate across teams and communicate complex concepts effectively
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with CIS benchmarks, AWS best practices, NIST, FedRamp, ISO27000
• Experience with FIPS-compliant tools, DevSecOps, CI/CD security, vulnerability management, SIEM, and incident response
• Hands-on with Java security architecture, Kubernetes, and GRC practices
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, CISSP, CISM)
• Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
