About the role

D-Wave is seeking an experienced Security and Network Administrator II to join our IT team, whose mission is to provide top-notch infrastructure and support services across the organization. In this role, you'll collaborate with the team to design, implement, and maintain core IT infrastructure services, including our network, security systems, telephony, and backup environments. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the security, performance, and reliability of these systems—managing firewalls, monitoring network activity, implementing cybersecurity measures, and supporting system upgrades and continuity efforts.

What you"ll do

Design, deploy, proactively monitor, and maintain secure, modern infrastructure that adapts to evolving internal customer needs. Manage core and endpoint security infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS / IPS, MDM, Zero Trust technologies, and central encryption management systems. Support the internal helpdesk by resolving security, communications, and Linux-related issues. Monitor and respond to security incidents and network issues to ensure system integrity and uptime. Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and support patch management to reduce risk. Collaborate with IT teams on updates and upgrades to maintain a secure, stable environment. Support security policy development, user training, disaster recovery, and incident response efforts.

About You

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience in IT security and networking within enterprise environments. CCNA certification or equivalent hands-on experience (CCNP a strong asset). Proven expertise in IP network design and maintenance (VLANs, subnetting, VPNs, wireless design, remote connectivity, access control). Strong background in Cisco technologies, including load balancing and firewall configuration. Experience with NAC 802.1X integration, Zero Trust implementation and administration. Proficiency in advanced network troubleshooting and structured change management processes. Hands-on experience with BGP routing and cloud service integration (e.g., AWS Direct Connect). Experience with enterprise wireless infrastructure, including deployment, tuning, and monitoring. Proficiency with Linux systems (TCP / IP stack, shell scripting, NFS, QNAP). Experience managing and configuring DC / Azure Active Directory and VMware ESXi infrastructure. Familiarity with SIEM platforms, SNMP / Syslog monitoring tools, and network configuration management solutions for version control and automation. Excellent communication and customer service skills with a strong focus on user satisfaction. Proactive learner with the ability to escalate appropriately and solve problems efficiently. Strong multitasking and project prioritization abilities; capable of managing multiple concurrent tasks. Willingness to work occasional evenings / weekends and participate in the IT on-call rotation.

Bonus Skills :

CCNP or other advanced networking certifications. Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence). Familiarity with ITIL practices.
