Our employee promise represents Intact’s commitment to you in exchange for living our Values, striving to do your best work, being open to change, and investing in your career. In return, we promise to provide support, opportunities, and performance-led financial rewards in a workplace where you can shape the future, win as a team, and grow with us.

About The Role

We’re looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Security Advisor - Cryptography to join our best-in-class Data Protection group. You will be at the forefront of analyzing the impact of quantum computing on current cryptographic systems and developing strategies for a secure transition to post-quantum cryptography.

What You'll Do Here
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of quantum algorithms (e.g., Shor's algorithm) and their potential to break existing cryptographic methods.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of cryptography to deliver post-quantum cryptography capabilities, including understanding of algorithms and the impact of quantum computing capabilities.
  • Evaluate security vulnerabilities of current cryptographic protocols and infrastructure against emerging quantum capabilities.
  • Identify and assess potential post-quantum cryptography (PQC) algorithms and standards (e.g., NIST PQC competition winners).
  • Develop and implement strategies for migrating to and adopting PQC algorithms within our systems and products.
  • Collaborate with cryptography advisors and software developers to integrate PQC solutions.
  • Monitor advancements in quantum computing hardware and software and their implications for cryptography.
  • Lead the development and update of cryptography technical standards.
  • Contribute to the development of internal PQC standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Analyze the performance and security of PQC implementations.
  • Stay informed on the latest research and developments in quantum computing and cryptography.
  • Communicate complex technical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Potentially contribute to developing new quantum-resistant cryptographic solutions.
What You Bring To The Table
  • Solid understanding of classical cryptography, including symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hash functions, digital signatures, and cryptographic protocols (e.g., RSA, ECC, AES, TLS).
  • Strong knowledge of quantum mechanics, quantum information theory, and quantum computing principles.
  • Familiarity with quantum algorithms relevant to cryptography (e.g., Shor's and Grover's algorithms).
  • 6-10 years of hands-on experience with cryptographic analysis techniques and security proofs.
  • Programming proficiency in languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
  • Experience with cryptographic libraries and security frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong interest in cryptography and quantum computing's future.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field with relevant cryptography or quantum information science experience.
  • Experience with post-quantum cryptography algorithms and standards.
  • Knowledge of quantum computing software platforms and simulators (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq).
  • Experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and Key Management systems.
  • Understanding of security vulnerabilities and attack vectors in cryptographic systems.
  • Experience in developing or implementing cryptographic solutions.
  • Research or publication experience in cryptography or quantum computing is a plus.
  • For candidates in Quebec, bilingualism in English and French is required.
  • No Canadian work experience required, but must be eligible to work in Canada.
What We Offer

Our hybrid work model balances remote work and in-person collaboration. As a permanent team member, you can expect:

  • A financial rewards program recognizing your success.
  • An industry-leading Employee Share Purchase Plan with 50% match on net shares purchased.
  • An extensive benefits package, including virtual healthcare.
  • Flexible work arrangements.
  • Option to purchase up to 5 extra days off annually.
