About The Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Security Advisor - Cryptography to join our best-in-class Data Protection group. You will be at the forefront of analyzing the impact of quantum computing on current cryptographic systems and developing strategies for a secure transition to post-quantum cryptography.
What You'll Do Here
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of quantum algorithms (e.g., Shor's algorithm) and their potential to break existing cryptographic methods.
- Apply advanced knowledge of cryptography to deliver post-quantum cryptography capabilities, including understanding of algorithms and the impact of quantum computing capabilities.
- Evaluate security vulnerabilities of current cryptographic protocols and infrastructure against emerging quantum capabilities.
- Identify and assess potential post-quantum cryptography (PQC) algorithms and standards (e.g., NIST PQC competition winners).
- Develop and implement strategies for migrating to and adopting PQC algorithms within our systems and products.
- Collaborate with cryptography advisors and software developers to integrate PQC solutions.
- Monitor advancements in quantum computing hardware and software and their implications for cryptography.
- Lead the development and update of cryptography technical standards.
- Contribute to the development of internal PQC standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Analyze the performance and security of PQC implementations.
- Stay informed on the latest research and developments in quantum computing and cryptography.
- Communicate complex technical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Potentially contribute to developing new quantum-resistant cryptographic solutions.
What You Bring To The Table
- Solid understanding of classical cryptography, including symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hash functions, digital signatures, and cryptographic protocols (e.g., RSA, ECC, AES, TLS).
- Strong knowledge of quantum mechanics, quantum information theory, and quantum computing principles.
- Familiarity with quantum algorithms relevant to cryptography (e.g., Shor's and Grover's algorithms).
- 6-10 years of hands-on experience with cryptographic analysis techniques and security proofs.
- Programming proficiency in languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
- Experience with cryptographic libraries and security frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong interest in cryptography and quantum computing's future.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field with relevant cryptography or quantum information science experience.
- Experience with post-quantum cryptography algorithms and standards.
- Knowledge of quantum computing software platforms and simulators (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq).
- Experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and Key Management systems.
- Understanding of security vulnerabilities and attack vectors in cryptographic systems.
- Experience in developing or implementing cryptographic solutions.
- Research or publication experience in cryptography or quantum computing is a plus.
- For candidates in Quebec, bilingualism in English and French is required.
- No Canadian work experience required, but must be eligible to work in Canada.
