Role Overview

The Secure Network Services (SNS) Global Operations Analyst, under the guidance of the SNS Global Operations Manager and Regional IT Leadership, will handle daily operations, troubleshooting, monitoring, and implementation of network infrastructure within the global Raymond James environment. The role primarily involves managing LAN, WAN, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless networks. This position supports our follow-the-sun support model, requiring work hours from 12pm – 8pm PST (3pm - 11pm EST). Only apply if you can work this shift.

Impact on the Organization

This role contributes to maintaining and enhancing the global network infrastructure, ensuring operational stability, security, and efficiency in support of Raymond James’ business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle essential maintenance and operational tasks efficiently.
  • Provide Tier-2 support for incidents, tasks, and problem tickets, collaborating with system and security teams.
  • Maintain system uptime, reliability, stability, and policy adherence.
  • Participate in high-priority calls and own problem management tasks.
  • Document and update knowledge bases, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Suggest technological improvements to Engineering and Architecture teams.
  • Contribute to Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery efforts, updating network plans as needed.
  • Support ITIL processes, including change management and audit tracking.
  • Promote and support the growth of the global infrastructure to meet business needs.
  • Be available for rotational on-call support, 24/7 as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Network or Information Security, or equivalent education and training.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • LAN/WAN technologies and protocols
    • SDWAN/SASE/Firewall/VPN (preferably Palo Alto, Prisma SDWAN, Cisco Viptela)
    • Load Balancing (F5)
    • Network Access Control (Forescout, Cisco ISE)
    • Wireless technologies (802.11x)
    • Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, SASE)
    • Converged voice/data infrastructure
    • QOS design/configuration
    • Network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
    • Protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, SD-WAN, VLANs

Additional skills include cloud security design, strong communication, ownership, problem-solving, prioritization, relationship-building, and flexibility to work non-standard hours including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.

Assets & Certifications

  • Familiarity with automation and monitoring tools (e.g., Ansible)
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework
  • Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP)
  • F5 certifications
  • ForeScout administration

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional visits to local/regional offices
  • Travel to US, Canada, UK as needed

Salary Range: BC based on education and experience, CAD 75,000-100,000 plus performance bonuses.
