Responsibilities
  • Lead and support your team members toward achieving the objectives set for the group.
  • Introduce engineering-related design changes to systems under our responsibility (Powerplant, APU, Fuel, Fuel Tank Inerting, Fire Detection & Extinguishing Systems).
  • Support investigation of in-service issues and provide engineering support to the production line for issue resolution.
  • Support strategic initiatives related to propulsion engineering.
  • Work with the team and other stakeholders to establish plans for emerging projects.
  • Establish and maintain governance covering the engineering team’s activities and address challenges.
  • Support the Propulsion Knowledge Owner and Fellow in defining the Powerplant Knowledge Domain strategy and ensure the plan is realized.
  • Develop and support the development plans for team members and help them realize their goals.
  • Ensure adequate engineering resources are allocated to current and future projects, per budget and schedule.
  • Hold performance reviews with team members and represent the team in management reviews.
Qualifications
  • At minimum a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience within propulsion systems engineering.
  • Strong technical competencies in propulsion systems engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people; organized with the ability to prioritize and manage complex projects.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., systems suppliers).
