Secretary-Treasurer/CFO

The Abbotsford School District is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Semá:th First Nation and Mathxwí First Nation. With this, we respect the longstanding relationships that Indigenous Nations have to this land, as they are the original caretakers.

Located in the heart of the Fraser Valley, the Abbotsford School District has 46 schools that are attended by over 20,000 students in elementary, middle, and secondary schools. As the largest employer in the city, Abbotsford School District has an operating budget of approximately $250 million and employs over 2,500 full and part time teaching and support staff who are committed to helping students succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Reporting to the Superintendent/CEO, serve as an integral member of a dynamic senior leadership team.
  2. Responsible for financial, legal, capital, facilities, transportation, IT and business operations.
  3. Serve as the corporate officer to the Board of Education, attending all meetings of the Board and supporting all aspects of governance.
  4. Play a critical role in the development and implementation of the Board's strategic plan.

Qualifications:
  1. Seasoned public sector financial executive with the ability to align financial planning with educational priorities.
  2. Experience supporting best practices around Board governance.
  3. Proven record of meaningful consultation and shared decision-making.
  4. Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  5. Leadership grounded in integrity, expertise, and trust, enabling effective influence on change.
  6. Commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture and openness to leveraging emerging technologies to enhance organizational effectiveness.
