About The Opportunity

The incumbent provides office, secretarial, and administrative support to Dartmouth North clinic patients and team members within the Primary Health Care Department. Responsibilities include handling patient bookings, recalls, translation services, billings, and other office duties. Additional support may be provided to various committees, task forces, and community groups. The role may also include general administrative coverage in the absence of other secretaries.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Grade 12 plus completion of a recognized office administration, business, or secretarial program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years recent related experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proficiency in Med Access (asset)
  • Fast and accurate document transcription skills
  • Competency in managing computer files
  • Typing speed of 60 wpm
  • Advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Experience with physician billings (MSI and/or IFHP) (asset)
  • Skilled in using Dictaphone and email
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for site travel
  • Additional language skills, especially French, are preferred

Hours
  • Permanent full-time; 70 hours bi-weekly
  • Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
Compensation and Benefits

$23.65 - $26.77 hourly. Benefits include health, dental, travel, disability, life insurance, and a pension plan.
