Job summary

The Source Staffing is partnering with a Canadian defence technology organization to hire an Intermediate Software Developer/Engineer in the Ottawa region for a mission-critical LC4ISR program under the Department of National Defence, with SECRET clearance.

This hands-on role focuses on design, development, and integration of tactical software applications in a secure, Agile environment, contributing to operational capabilities.

Qualifications

• Active SECRET security clearance (mandatory – transferable).
• Minimum 5 years of software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java.
• Experience in secure or regulated environments (defence/public sector).
• Solid understanding of software architecture, integration, and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance software systems within an LC4ISR framework.
• Support system integration, verification, and validation activities.
• Analyze and resolve system-level issues, including performance and interoperability.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure system reliability and maintainability.
• Conduct technical investigations into third-party software and integrations.
• Review and contribute to technical documentation (interfaces, components, specifications).
• Support integration testing and evaluation activities in controlled environments.
• Contribute within a SAFe Agile delivery model.
