Job summary

TextNow, Inc. is seeking a seasoned SecOps/SRE professional to secure and automate our mobile core network environment. You will design scalable security infrastructure, implement IaC using Terraform and Ansible, and drive on-call incident response to protect millions of users.

You will work with AWS security services and CI/CD pipelines to embed security across development, testing, and production systems, ensuring least-privilege access and proactive threat mitigation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Security Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, or DevSecOps.
• Hands-On with AWS security services, GitHub security controls, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Incident response experience and threat remediation skills.
• Proficiency in security monitoring, logging, SIEMs, and cloud-native security tools.
• Experience integrating security into SDLC and CI/CD pipelines.

• Design, implement, and maintain security-focused infrastructure for reliable cloud services.
• Develop and enforce best practices using Terraform, Ansible, CrowdStrike, and AWS security tools.
• Participate in on-call rotation to investigate and respond to security incidents.

TextNowis looking for a new SecOps team member to secure,monitor, and enable automated response within our infrastructure.

WhatYou’llDo

• Ensure Secure & Reliable Systems: Design, implement, andmaintainsecurity-focused infrastructure to protectTextNow’sservices while ensuring reliability and scalability.

• Security Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Develop and enforce best practices using Terraform, Ansible,Crowdstrike, and AWS security tools , ensuring secure configurations, automated compliance checks, andinfrastructure ascode.

• Threat Detection & Incident Response: Participatein an on-call rotation to respond to security incidents, investigate vulnerabilities, and implement proactive measures to prevent future threats. Work closely with engineering teams to remediate security risks.

• Monitoring & Logging for Security: Improve observability by implementing securitymonitoringsolutions, logging best practices, and alerting mechanisms to detect anomalies and suspicious activity.

• Access Control & Identity Management: Manage IAM roles, permissions, and policies to ensure least privilege access and enforce security controls across cloud and internal systems.

• Collaboration & Security Advocacy: Work with DevOps, engineering, and compliance teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and promote a security-first culture.

• Continuous Security Improvement: Identifyand mitigate security vulnerabilities, conduct security assessments, and implement automated security scanning and hardening techniques.

Who You Are

• Experienced in SecOps & SRE: You have5 + years of experience in Security Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, orDevSecOps , with a strong understanding of cloud security, system reliability, and automation.

• Hands-On with Security Tools & Cloud Platforms: Proficient with AWS security services, GitHub security controls, Terraform for secure infrastructure provisioning, and Ansible for automated security configurations.

• Incident Response & Threat Management: Experienced in handling security incidents, analyzing threats, and implementing remediation strategies to improve system defenses.

• Proactive in Security Monitoring &Hardening: Strong background in logging, monitoring, and anomaly detection using tools likeSIEMs, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and cloud-native security solutions.

• Experience working with development teams to integrate security best practices into the SDLC (e.g.,staticand dynamic code analysis).

• Collaborative & Security-Minded: Passionate about working with engineering teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines , enforce security policies, threat modeling, and risk assessments, and drive a security-first mindset across theorganization.

The expected base salary range for this role is:

CanadaIntermediate:CAD $113,400 -$162,000annually

Canada Senior: CAD $158,000 – 207,000 annually

Canada Staff: CAD $200,400 – 248,000 annually

This role does not require or confer professional engineer status.
