Posting Overview

The Lambton Kent District School Board serves more than 21,000 students in 50 elementary and 12 secondary schools across Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent.

Prospective qualified secondary teachers who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • Must be available to start working immediately or once OCT has been processed;
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 3-5 days/week;
  • Must be available to work 10 months of the school year;
  • Must be willing to travel throughout Chatham-Kent and/or Sarnia-Lambton;
  • Must be available to work on a daily occasional basis;
  • Must be available to work on a last-minute, call-in basis.

Prospective candidates currently enrolled in teachers college are encouraged to apply.

Successful applicants will be expected to commence employment immediately or once they become OCT qualified (for new graduates/current students).

Qualifications/Experience
  • Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification;
  • Qualifications in French, Ojibwe, or Lenape language are assets;
  • Additional qualifications are assets;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current Ontario curriculum and assessment, evaluation, and reporting practices;
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff;
  • Demonstrates positive interaction and collaboration as part of the school team;
  • Applies consistent and fair classroom management;
  • Experience working with youth in various settings;
  • Experience working with diverse cultures, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit;
  • Ability to integrate technology into curriculum.
