Keewatin-Patricia District School Board (KPDSB) invites applications for a Full-Time Long Term Occasional Teaching position at Beaver Brae Secondary School in Northwestern Ontario. The successful candidate will hold OCT certification with Intermediate/Senior status and French Second Language qualifications or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

  • OCT Certificate required; Intermediate/Senior and French Second Language qualifications or experience preferred.
  • Understanding of Ontario Curriculum, Continuing Education, the Adult Education Credit Strategy, Achieving Excellence, the Renewed Math Strategy.
  • Familiarity with First Nations, Inuit and Metis Cultures within Northwestern Ontario.
  • Experience as a staff developer, lead learner and facilitator.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with and/or experience in working cooperatively with staff, administration and educational partners.
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) or a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) at hire and every five years.

Job description

Position: Full--Time Long Term Occasional Teaching Position - Intermediate/ Senior qualifications
Location: Beaver Brae Secondary School
Union Affiliation: OSSTF-Occasional Teachers
Effective October 28, 2026 until return of incumbent, but not beyond June 25, 2027.
This position will remain open until filled.

Keewatin-Patricia District School Board (KPDSB) is situated in beautiful Northwestern Ontario. KPDSB serves the educational needs of approximately 5,000 students within 17 elementary and 6 secondary schools in the communities of Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Vermilion Bay, Ear Falls, Red Lake, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Pickle Lake, Savant Lake, and Upsala. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • OCT Certificate required. Intermediate/Senior and French Second Languagequalifications or experience preferred.
  • An understanding of current educational philosophies, teaching and learning strategies involved in the Ontario Curriculum, Continuing Education, the Adult Education Credit Strategy, Achieving Excellence, the Renewed Math Strategy

  • This position will require a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) or a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) at the employee’s expense upon hire, and every five years subsequently.
