Job description

This is an online teaching position requiring the candidate to provide virtual instruction, assessment, and evaluation to secondary school students learning from home, depending on system needs.

Additional Information
  1. Candidates must be members in good standing or in the process of becoming Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) qualified prior to the start date.
  2. If you are external to the YRDSB, you will need to provide at least three professional, supervisory teaching references in the online application, including full name, position, work location/organization, and email address. References are not contacted before practicum/interview.
  3. If you are an internal YRDSB employee, include all previous teaching experiences and two references, one of which must be a YRDSB administrator.
  4. As per the Education Act, all applicants and volunteers must provide a satisfactory police record check, including a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC), completed within six months prior to the start date, and satisfactory to the YRDSB. Candidates are responsible for submitting the results as instructed.

We accept PVSCs from other Ontario school boards and employers within the last six months.

Referees
  1. Principal/Vice-Principal who supervised you and can speak to your teaching practice.
  2. Faculty Advisor/Coordinator or Practicum Advisor who observed and evaluated your teaching.
  3. Host/Mentor Teacher who supervised you in elementary/secondary settings.
  4. Professional reference regarding your teaching practice.
