Hours of Work : Full-Time (1.0 fte) at 35 hours per week

Rate of Pay : $25.35 - $29.23

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Principal, or designate ensures the efficient operation of the Secondary School Office. Includes responsibility for office staff, routines and equipment. Acts as the Administrative Assistant to Principal. Delegates work load of all other office / clerical staff in the school. Involvement with students, staff, parents and stakeholders occurs on a daily basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma required. A valid Drivers licence and the willingness and ability to travel for school board related business required. College diploma in a secretarial / office administration discipline preferred. Equivalent qualifications and / or expertise as determined by the Human Resources Manager may be considered. Demonstrated experience in a Windows environment and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite required. Willingness and ability to acquire skills in data base, accounting, banking and other related software applications is essential. The following attributes are necessary : excellent office skills; ability to deal with tact and sound judgement in oral and written communications with students, staff and the public; the ability to organize and complete work assignments with minimum supervision; and the ability to work independently in a team environment. Previous secretarial experience an asset and experience in an education environment will be preferred.
