Job summary

OSI Electronics is seeking an SMT Operator to operate, set up, and monitor SMT equipment for flexible and rigid-flex circuits, ensuring quality per travelers and instructions. The role focuses on pick-and-place units, stencil printers, and reflow ovens, with emphasis on throughput and defect avoidance.

Afternoon shift offers a $0.75/hour differential. Responsibilities include feeding components, AOI/X-Ray inspection, solder paste handling, and line upkeep.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with SMT line operation including stencil printers and pick-and-place equipment preferred
  • Ability to read travelers, work instructions, BOMs, and basic assembly drawings
  • Basic understanding of SMT process flow: print/place/reflow/inspect
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify SMT defects; raise abnormalities
  • Manual dexterity for handling thin, delicate flexible circuits and tooling
  • Must be a team player and able to enter data and track instructions
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and communicate in English

Responsibilities

  • Operate pick-and-place units and validate programs and placement quality
  • Set up and operate SMT stencil printers and verify parameters
  • Manage feeders and materials according to BOM and travelers
  • Operate AOI and X-Ray inspection equipment and coordinate defect review
  • Ensure solder paste quality and manage storage/expiration for pastes
  • Perform line housekeeping, printer checks and tooling cleaning
  • Troubleshoot SMT line issues and escalate when needed
  • Operate Heller reflow ovens and verify recipes and temperatures
  • Uphold company values and report quality problems for corrective actions
  • Duties may be modified to meet business needs
