Job Description

Every memorable dining experience at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge begins behind the scenes with our culinary team’s commitment to safe, efficient operations and exceptional cuisine. As Second Cook, the care you devote to preparing each menu item will be appreciated by our guests!

Starting Rate : $18.96 per hour

What you will be doing :

Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Execute food items for à la carte and banquet menus according to hotel recipes and standards while assisting and overseeing production for relevant departments
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features, and promotions
  • Control waste and spoilage in the assigned department
  • Handle guest allergy concerns with appropriate care and report to Chef De Partie
  • Ensure proper labeling, dating, and storage of all kitchen items
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • At least 2 years of kitchen experience in fast-paced, casual dining
  • Completion of Alberta’s Food Handler Certification
  • Solid knife handling and safety skills
  • Culinary certification is an asset
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license is an asset

Additional Information

Visa Requirements : Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel cannot assist with obtaining Canadian work authorization.
