Job summary

Dawson Road Maintenance in British Columbia is hiring a Seasonal Operator to maintain road safety during winter conditions. The role involves navigating frozen roads, snow and ice removal, and supporting the production targets set by the Road Foreperson.

Candidates should have a valid Class 1 license (or Class 3) and at least two years of road maintenance or related construction, plus experience with driving commercially and operating heavy equipment. Travel within the province may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of road maintenance and/or construction experience.
• Valid Class 1 preferred, or Class 3 drivers license is required.
• Two years commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Experience in snow removal is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of road construction materials and processes.
• Heavy Equipment Operating Certificate an asset.
• Able to manage electronic reporting using tablets.
• Minor equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety of self and others on the job.
• Collaborate with team to complete tasks and keep roads safe.
• Perform unskilled manual work requiring physical effort.
• Operate heavy equipment in all weather conditions on public roadways.
• Follow supervisor directions regarding daily production schedule.
• Maintain daily work activity records and status of completion.
• Care for equipment and perform basic maintenance.
• Complete all work reports and maintenance logs.
