Job summary

North Nova Seafoods is seeking workers for seasonal seafood processing. You will cut, clean and trim fish, unload catch, and support packing operations in a fast-paced environment. Work is indoors in a cold/refrigerated setting with physical demands and standing for long periods.

Hours are seasonal with full-time scheduling as listed, and there are up to 35 positions. English language requirement applies and the job pays $19.00 hourly in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Qualifications

• No degree, certificate or diploma.
• Experience an asset.

Responsibilities

• Cut, clean and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing.
• Unload fish and shellfish from fishing vessels and transport them to the work area.
• Scrape away scales, cut fish, separate fillets and remove scrap parts with a knife.
• Transport fish and shellfish to the work area for processing.
• Check products and packaging for defects and adjust machines as needed.
• Disjoint and remove meat from lobsters or crustaceans prior to canning.
• Record production information and weigh fish or shellfish for packing.
