SEASONAL SALES ASSOCIATE COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
The Seasonal Sales Associate must demonstrate a set of competencies and skills that establish them as a sales generator and team player within the store. These competencies outline the skill set required for success in this role.
JOB DESCRIPTION - SALES ASSOCIATE
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide and ensure legendary customer experiences consistently.
- Prioritize customer focus; all other tasks are secondary.
- Assist customers with wardrobe styling and share up-to-date fashion knowledge.
- Display expert product knowledge, including product details, company history, policies, and strategies.
- Meet sales expectations, achieve individual and team goals, and contribute to overall store success.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to build a strong store team.
- Work with Store Management to set personal development goals.
- Assist with floor sets, window displays, and visual merchandising.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Follow scheduling and availability requirements.
- Perform POS transactions accurately and follow cash handling procedures.
- Maintain awareness of Loss Prevention to prevent shortages.
- Assist with housekeeping and store maintenance tasks.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Outgoing personality capable of open interaction with others.
- Proven ability to achieve sales goals and metrics.
- Customer service experience required.
- Demonstrated sales accountability.
- Strong leadership qualities and motivation to succeed.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Receptiveness to feedback from management and peers.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift, bend, open, and move products and fixtures up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb step stools and ladders.
- Capability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Willingness to travel between store locations and attend meetings.
- This position involves constant movement, talking, hearing, reaching, and standing; may include stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with customers, peers, and management.
