Job Opportunity: Seasonal Picker & Shipper (Annuals & Perennials)Location: Gemmell’s Garden Centre, Smiths Falls ONReports To: Lead Hand, Retail ManagerEmployment Type: Seasonal – Full-TimeStart Date: April 30, 2025Are you passionate about plants and enjoy hands-on work in a greenhouse environment? We're looking for motivated individuals to join our team as Pickers & Shippers to help prepare and ship wholesale plant orders during our busy season!Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently pick and prepare perennials and annuals for wholesale shipping
  • Prune, clip, and deadhead plants as needed to maintain quality and appearance
  • Monitor plant health and report pest, disease, or drought concerns
  • Stake tall plants as directed to prevent wind damage
  • Gather and organize plant material for orders using wagons/carts
  • Maintain clean and organized greenhouse work areas
  • Follow all instructions from the Crew Leader, Production Coordinator, or General Manager
  • Assist with cleanup duties including removing dead material and emptying waste buckets
  • Support a positive and productive team environment
Working Hours & Expectations:
  • April–May: 8:00 AM start time, working until 3:00–6:00 PM or later
  • Availability: Must be flexible to work 6 days a week, including weekends and holidays
  • Long hours may be required depending on business needs
