Job summary

Ledcor is hiring for road maintenance across Northern BC, including the Alaska highways, with year-round contracts lasting up to three years. The role focuses on winter maintenance using heavy equipment and requires Class 1 or 3 licenses with air endorsement. Preference given to local applicants.

You will operate snowplow trucks and wheel loaders, perform Labourer duties, and work outdoors in all weather, with training and opportunities for advancement within Ledcor.

Qualifications

Essential Responsibilities

• Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
• Maintain Alaska Highways year-round, including assisting with Labourer duties (crack sealing, pothole repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
• Work outside in all weather conditions

Qualifications

• Successful completion pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement
• Clear 3-year driver’s abstract
• Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset

Work Conditions

• As we respond to various weather patterns, some shift work, on-call, and night shift will be required
• Benefits and RSPs provided by CLAC union
• Camp provided in remote locations
• Due to the nature of the work, preference will be given to local applicants

Compensation

$30.76 - $37.72 per hour

This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
