Seasonal Merchandiser - Outdoor Garden Center HD

Our Opportunity: Rainbow Greenhouses Inc. supplies indoor and garden plants to retailers in Canada. We are seeking highly motivated and hard-working individuals with a love for plants to merchandise our product at our Home Depot and Walmart Indoor and Outdoor Garden Centres in Vernon, BC.

Job Summary: Merchandisers are responsible for the care and presentation of the live goods in the local retail stores and restocking product. Successful merchandisers work hard, know that details matter, follow directions easily and completely, and are self-motivated. Merchandisers are responsible for the visual display and integrity of our products as well as pricing and inventory management. Daily duties include offloading product from carts to benches or staging carts, merchandising product accordingly, creating full and beautiful displays as well as maintaining shelf fullness. We will also be responsible for maintaining product, which includes watering, pruning, and product rotation.

Part Time indoor positions are 6-8 hrs per week with more hours available in garden season. Seasonal outdoor positions hours will vary from PT to FT as season requires. Team members will work together in creating daily plans, task delegation, reporting, and communication to supervisor.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Physical work - able to lift 50lbs
• Ability to push/pull and reach
• Unloading carts of product onto tables and/or carts
• Pricing appropriately if required
• Reporting inventory needs to supervisors
• Merchandise displays according to Rainbow merchandising standards
• Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time
• Self-driven, prioritize time and duties
• High energy level
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and with a team

Qualifications And Education Requirements:

• Smart phone required, regular usage (email/phone/photos, etc)
• Personal and reliable vehicle preferred but not required
• Merchandising experience preferred
• CSA Steel Toe Shoes required

Preferred Skills: Excellent people skills, adaptability, self-directed, organizational skills, problem solving, physically capable of manual labor.
