Job summary

Emcon Services Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Maintenance Operator in the Sudbury contract area at the Gore Bay patrol yard.

The role involves performing summer and winter highway maintenance from designated patrol centers, including plowing, sanding, traffic control, and emergency responses. The successful candidate should hold a DZ license (in good standing) with AZ license preferred, and have experience in provincial/municipal highway maintenance.

Qualifications

Minimum DZ license in good standing.
Preferred AZ license with proven experience, asset.
Experience in Provincial and/or Municipal highway maintenance field.
Helpful, friendly and courteous with the public, regulatory agencies and peers.
Punctual, reliable and willing to work shift work.
Physically able to meet all requirements and perform highway maintenance and emergency assignments safely.

Responsibilities

Carrying out all assigned routine/non-routine summer and winter highway maintenance operations.
Performing plowing, sanding, traffic control and emergency responses.
Highway surface maintenance and right‑of‑way maintenance (fence repair, litter pick-up, shrub/tree maintenance, embankment repair).
Highway patrolling, shoulder maintenance/grading, drainage maintenance.
Completing or assisting on minor vehicle and equipment maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
