Position Summary:

Under the guidance of the Front Office Manager, the Guest Services Agent (GSA) will be responsible for providing courteous, prompt, professional and attentive service up to hotel standards at all times. The GSA is expected to go above and beyond to ensure that guests experience our singularly unique lakeside hospitality.

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standard:

  • Consistently provide a high level of customer service to all guests and crew
  • Ensure an efficient reception experience for guests, including check in/out, and complete audit procedures as required
  • Accommodates any special requests whenever possible
  • Communicates information to the appropriate hotel personnel/departments
  • Works closely with the Housekeeping Department on room status reports
  • Maintains guest room key storage and supervises access to internet
  • Ensure duty managers are kept fully aware of any relevant feedback from guests and other departments
  • Achieve positive outcomes from guest requests in a timely and efficient matter
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hotel room categories, room rates, packages, promotions and other general product knowledge as necessary to perform daily duties
  • Maximize room occupancy and practice up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities
  • Use the correct procedures regarding the acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards and cash in accordance with hotel credit policy
  • Accurately notes and enters guest parking passes (seasonal)
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
  • Act in accordance with policies and procedures when working with front of house equipment and property management systems
  • Follow company policies and procedures

To successfully fill this role, you should demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience in a customer-focused industry
  • Previous experience in a hotel/front desk role, knowledge of OPERA property management system, an asset
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service
  • Excellent grooming standards
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Competent level of computer proficiency
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
