Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients in completing their tax returns using TurboImpôt, providing guidance and reviewing their self-prepared returns.
  • Use government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to find accurate answers and communicate them clearly to clients.
  • Interact with clients via video and document interactions for accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years paid professional tax preparation experience.
  • Provide CRA RepID for client representation services.
  • Experience with complex personal tax situations, including employment, self-employment, investments, foreign income, and various credits.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate professionally via video/audio tools.
  • Flexible schedule with at least 20 hours per week.

Additional Assets:

  • Experience with Business (T2) and Quebec (TP1) tax returns.

  • Fundamental understanding of tax laws and concepts, with a proactive approach to ongoing learning.
  • Effective communication and active listening skills.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to escalate when necessary.
  • Curiosity and resourcefulness in seeking solutions.
  • Basic technical troubleshooting skills.

Compensation includes a competitive hourly wage, bonuses, equity rewards, and benefits, based on experience, skills, and location. The position is virtual and requires use of communication software to interact with clients.
