Job summary

Nortera in Lethbridge is looking for seasonal forklift operators to assist in the frozen food manufacturing process. You'll work in a fast-paced environment handling goods, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting production schedules over a 4-month contract. Ideal candidates will have forklift certifications and the ability to lift heavy items as part of a team.

At Nortera Lethbridge we harvest peas and corn that are grown in Taber and the surrounding area. These fresh vegetables are harvested in the Taber area and then transported to our Lethbridge facility. They come straight from the field to be washed, frozen, packaged, and shipped. For our seasonal positions we are currently hiring individuals that have an interest in learning about the frozen food manufacturing process and to make money for the summer months!

We are currently accepting applications for our seasonal forklift operators in Lethbridge.

Contract Length: 4 Months July-October

Your Daily Role

• Work in a high paced packaging / production environment
• Transport and distribute materials and goods to storage areas in a safe manner
• Ensure forklift certificate is up to date
• Complete forklift inspections daily
• Operate computerized inventory control systems
• Make labels and attach to goods
• Organize and maintain inventory
• Other general production duties as required
  
  

Your Profile

• Ability to lift or move equipment / materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to operate a forklift safely in high paced environment
• Endure cold environment
• Demonstrate ability to work effectively as a part of a team
• Good oral and written communication
• Safe working procedures upheld
• Excellent hand eye coordination
• Be able to work under limited supervision
• Good problem solving skills
• Ensures proper use of PPEs and hazard controls in place
• Willingness to work days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Forklift certified
• Has experience working in a food manufacturing environment (preferred);
• CSA approved steel toed shoes.
  
  

Work Conditions

• Wage rate: starting at $21.73
• Sunday Premium: $1.50/hr
• Night Premium: $1.00/hr
• Schedule: 12 Hour Schedule (4-5-5; 4 days, 5 off, 5 nights, 4 off, 5 days, 5 off, repeat)Rotating between days, and nights.
• This schedule requires some weekends and holidays. Days are 6am-6pm and Nights 6pm-6am
