Seasonal Equipment Operator Nights – Operations Department, Roads Division (Unionized Position) – 3 Positions

Reports to: Road Superintendent
Location: Initial Placement – To Be Determined

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Secondary school education or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Good technical and mechanical skills
  • Valid Class D license with Z endorsement with an acceptable abstract
  • Ability to operate light, medium, and heavy equipment, including but not limited to standard transmission tandem dump truck, loader/backhoe, snowplow/sander, tractors, chainsaws, weed eaters, etc.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated safe work practices (in compliance with applicable legislation, i.e. Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7, County of Brant Health & Safety Policies & Procedures, etc.)
Assets:
  • Experience with and demonstrated ability to operate road grader
  • Knowledge related to Public Works
Duties:
  • Operate a variety of light, medium and heavy equipment, power and hand tools to perform maintenance, repair, construction tasks and winter control operations as related to Public Works type activities
  • Other relevant duties as assigned
Wage:
$25.91/hour – Probationary Rate
$29.02/hour – 6 months to 1 year Rate
$32.12/hour – 12 month + Rate
Shift Premium available

Contract: Mid November – Mid April 40 hours/week
Shift Vacancy:10:30 pm – 7:00 am (Sunday - Thursday)
8:00 pm – 6:30 am (rotating shift)
