Job summary

Indigo is hiring for a seasonal, fixed-term role in Halifax. You will support daily store operations, engage with customers, curate product assortments, and tell stories through our products. The role requires adaptability, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to be mobile on the sales floor, including lifting up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

• Experience in specialty retail or a retail environment preferred but not required.
• Adaptability, flexibility and willingness to learn new things across all store areas.
• Commitment to creating exceptional employee and customer experience.
• Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with proper safety techniques.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, overnights and early mornings (if required).
• Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset outside Québec; for Québec roles it is required.

Responsibilities

• Leverage products to tell stories and engage customers on the floor.
• Curate product collections for each customer you meet.

• Stay informed on new products, promotions and programs.
• Contribute to health and safety of staff and customers and respond to feedback promptly.
• Share ideas with Leadership on improving employee and customer experience.

Job description

This is a seasonal position with a fixed-term contract.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Support the daily operations of the store, before or after the store closes (5AM or 10PM start time)
• Conduct inventory cycle counts, replenish stock, manage product returns, shelve products, and receive and process incoming store merchandise
• Use merchandising standards to create a visually appealing, stimulating store
• Create a warm and welcoming environment in our stores
• Add joy to our customers' lives

• Engage and connect with our customers on the floor
• Curate specific product collections for each customer you meet

• Experience in specialty retail or a retail environment preferred but not required

• Ability to lift medium to large items, up to 40 pounds, while using appropriate equipment and safety techniques
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, overnights and early mornings (if required for the role)
• Bilingualism (French/English) is required for all positions in Québec; other languages an asset
