Job Description
What you will be doing:
The knowledge of a great Concierge is essential for our guests' experience at Fairmont Waterfront. Your ability to anticipate guests’ needs and make informed suggestions will ensure a memorable stay. Reporting to the Chef Concierge, your main responsibilities include:
- Consistently offering professional, friendly, and engaging service to all guests
- Developing and maintaining strong guest relationships to ensure loyalty; delivering gracious, thoughtful, and personalized service in every interaction
- Liaising with other departments such as Housekeeping, Front Office, and Fairmont Gold for smooth operations
- Handling guest concerns effectively and efficiently, ensuring proper logging and follow-up
- Participating in resolving guest concerns, demonstrating empathy and ownership in both in-person and written communication
- Coordinating guest experiences via phone, email, text, in person, or with other departments using Alice reservation software
- Staying updated on Vancouver attractions, restaurants, and surrounding areas
- Assisting with mail, messages, and plans or arrangements guests wish to make
- Informing guests about hotel facilities and promoting hotel services and offerings
- Ensuring the lobby is in peak condition by circulating actively and reporting work orders promptly
- Adhering to hotel emergency procedures and safety standards
- Complying with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts policies, procedures, and ethics
- Performing additional tasks as assigned by leadership and supporting daily operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a luxury environment and a passion for hospitality
- Excellent knowledge of Vancouver, nearby areas, and local attractions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications; experience with Opera Cloud, Open Table, and Kipsu is an asset
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly responsible and reliable with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Energetic, able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Team player and independent worker
- Focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Flexible with working hours
