Job description

Lake Country Co-op invites applications for the position of Part-Time Seasonal Clerk/Cashier (2 Positions) from May 20 – September 2, 2025, at our Food Store location in Smeaton, Saskatchewan.

Reporting to Food Store Team Leader, responsibilities for this position include the following:
• Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, values, and safety principles to make a difference in members lives, with a strong customer focused approach.
• Provide Legendary Service at all touch points through various communication channels.
• Serve guests, pack groceries, stock, and face shelves, dispense fuel and propane.
• Ensure to keep a clean and well-maintained department; clean up breakage and spills, clean shelves, bins and displays as needed, and keep aisles free of debris.
• Maintain a safe and efficient area while adhering to company policies, procedure, and standards in social responsibility and the selling of age restricted items relating to wine, spirits, beer, tobacco and lottery.
• Knowledge and working understanding of the pumps and propane.
• Operate point of sale system and other electronic devices and process sales.
• Monitor code dates to always ensure the freshest inventory on the shelf; follow first in first out (FIFO).
• Support and follow Asset Protection and Safety Management systems, policies, and procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and Customer Service:
• You must be 19 years of age or older
• You are honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented, and are proud of the work that you do.
• You are strongly service oriented and motivated, and capable of assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
• You are well organized and capable of attaining a high level of production, with a minimum amount of supervision.
• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
• You are familiar with Food Safe procedures and practices.
• You must be willing and able to obtain Serve It Right and propane dispensing certifications.
• You are attentive to detail and have strong cash management skills.
• You have the ability to fulfill physical job requirements, -working both inside and outside, standing, kneeling, crouching, and performing heavy lifting regularly.
• You have the ability to work in a fast paced, guest facing environment.
• You have a flexible work schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
