Job summary

Carter’s Inc. in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking a Seasonal Associate to greet customers, explain baby and children's products, and help families prepare for school and everyday moments.

You will work in a fast-paced retail environment and handle transactions while promoting our promotions and loyalty program. You will also stock shelves, assist customers across omnichannel channels, and maintain a welcoming, clean store.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in retail preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a busy store environment.
• Willingness to lift up to 40 pounds as needed and stand for long periods.
• Availability including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and assist with product styles and benefits.
• Resolve issues proactively in a busy retail setting.
• Assist with omnichannel purchases to ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Execute and expedite point of sale transactions.
• Complete floor replenishment and shipments as needed.
• Explain promotions and the loyalty program; maintain store safety and cleanliness.

What you’ll do:

• Welcome customers with a warm greeting and provide assistance with our product styles, features, and benefits
• Confidently and proactively resolve issues for customers and balance a number of customers in a busy retail environment
• Meet customer needs by assisting with omnichannel as needed to ensure a positive shopping experience
• Execute and expedite point of sale/register transactions
• Complete floor replenishment and shipment as needed
• Articulate current promotional events and the brand loyalty program to customers
• Minimize store loss by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a safe, clean store

Qualities we’d love in a candidate:

• The ability to manage multiple tasks at once
• You can: Lift 40 pounds as needed, with frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling

• Provide availability that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

Compensation for this position ranges from $17.60 - $17.60 per hour based on experience and location.
